Shardina: Political Map

Shardina is a world of warring countries. Though there is a time of peace at the moment, tensions will mount again, and another great war will threaten the world. Such is the nature of the kingdoms of men.

Of the civilized countries in the world, there are truly four major players: Chelsea County, Sorcinia, The Kratsen Republic, and The Republic of Bren.

Chelsea County's capital is Helmsford, the Opal City. It is a city that stands as a testament to all that is good in mankind.

Sorcinia's capital is Sorcinia. It is a city built on slavery and fear. From a mighty tower does the cities immortal Lord watch and plan his next attack.

The Republic of Bren is a city of honor, loyalty and law. The citizens of Bren are hardy folk who live in the cold north. Their capital, Bren, is an ancient fortress, reminiscent of classical a medieval hierarchy.

The Kratsen Republic is a land of deception. Corrupt bureaucrats and officials sway government policy in their favor. The land is overcome by greed and as the poor get poorer, the rich get richer.

There is one place of true refuge in this world: Presset's Abbey. This ancient stone temple rests atop a small mountain at the northernmost end of Avandra's Road (The neutral zone). Like the road itself, the Abbey and the mountain around it are magically protected- none can raise a finger in violence without feeling an overwhelming pain. As such, it is the site of a great pilgrimmage for many of Shardina, for at this temple lie altars and worship halls to each of the major gods, both good and evil.
